This is a very competitive category, including some of the best hotels in the country, such as Art Series - The Cullen in Prahran and Establishment in Sydney. Other Tasmanian hotels to make the top 25 list include The Henry Jones Art Hotel and Quarry Salamanca.

Hotel Charles GM Andrew Fry said this accolade is a great honour as it is based solely on guest reviews.

"They provide an up-to-the-minute account of their experience on the website... if you don't provide the level of service you promote on your website, it will end up on tripadvisor" he said.

"I think we did well because we're modern, we're new, we have reasonable rates and we provide good customer service."
