Ecotourism certification

The Tourism Industry Council Tasmania and Ecotourism Australia (EA) are pleased to announce the launch of the ECO Certification Program, Climate Action Program, and EcoGuide Program for Tasmania, as a framework to achieve solutions toward climate change, economic, environmental and social sustainability, and greater global recognition as a leading sustainable tourism destination.

EA will offer a discount through TICT (exclusive to TICT accredited operators with National Tourism Accreditation Program accreditation) to apply, complete and lodge their ECO certification, or a combination of ECO and Climate Change Certification by 31 December 2010 - a 40% discount on your annual fees for the first year.

More detailed arrangements on the partnership between TICT and EA can be read by visiting the TICT and EA Partnership letter that is attached above.

For more information on the ECO Certification program and the Climate Action program please read the attached certification information flyer that outlines the benefits of participation.

Freycinet Adventures have generously provided the TICT with a testimonial about their experience with the process of achieving eco certification through Ecotourism Australia and in what ways it has helped their business. To read about how it could benefit your business please click here.
