Who Chooses the Winners?

Judging for the Tasmanian Tourism Awards is conducted by a panel of industry peers appointed by Tourism Industry Council Tasmania. Judges are selected for their knowledge and experience in the tourism industry, and include former award winners.

Entrants are assessed against the Award criteria through an on-site and submission judging process. Site visits are conducted by a site judge with the aim of testing the experience and providing a detailed report for the submission judges to use to validate claims made in the submission.

Each submission is assessed by a team of three judges, who firstly judge independently, and then discuss their findings as a group. This process is overseen by professional auditors KPMG.

The judges are looking for sustainable businesses that are making a real contribution to Tasmanian tourism with passion, planning and a commitment to excellence and innovation.
