The Tasmanian Tourism Awards

The Tasmanian Tourism Awards are presented annually by the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania (TICT) on behalf of the tourism industry. The awards recognise outstanding achievement across all sectors of the tourism industry in Tasmania.

The Tasmanian Tourism Awards are designed to promote and reward business excellence in our industry. They encourage and celebrate professionalism, creativity and innovation and provide a benchmark for best practice in the tourism industry. They also enable our star products and experiences to attain national recognition through the Australian Tourism Awards.

The Tasmanian Tourism Awards are an annual online submission and site visit based competition for tourism businesses and industry suppliers. There are 30 categories in which to nominate, representing the diversity of the tourism industry with nominations for awards due by mid-July and submissions due by mid-September. In addition to Gold winners, as of 2013 Silver and Bronze winners are also being recognised.

Winners are announced at a black tie gala dinner held during November with winners then going on to represent Tasmania as finalists at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards. Businesses that have won the same category for three consecutive years are recognised for their outstanding achievement by being welcomed into the Tasmanian Tourism Awards Hall of Fame.
