Survey: Industry Education Needs

In May the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania, Tourism Tasmania and the University of Tasmania undertook a joint survey to gain a better understanding of the requirements of the Tasmanian tourism industry for University graduates.

This short survey was sent to tourism operators across Tasmania and to key allied tourism service organisations (including Government, Council, marketing and consulting companies) so as to determine the level of recruitment of graduates with a tourism focus over the last five years, and to estimate needs for the next five years.

The survey results and comments are being complied by Tourism Tasmania to assist the University to continue to improve its delivery of future courses and programs suited to the tourism industry across the State. It will also assist the University in working with the VET sector and other training providers in the State to address the training and educational needs of the tourism industry.
