One of the most popular sessions at every Tasmanian Tourism Conference is the all-important industry 'state of play' and presentations on the latest research on market trends and visitor attitudes to Tasmania. This year conference delegates will be briefed for the first time on the fresh new information on consumer attitudes to Tasmania generated from Tourism Tasmania's new market research resource, Tourism Info Monitor, or "TIM".
Tourism Tasmanias Director of Operations & Planning, Adam Sproule, will be briefing conference delegates on the initial findings from TIM, which is being produced by Tourism Tasmania's in conjunction with its research partners, TNS Australia, using the results from a major on-line survey.
TICT CEO Luke Martin will also be sharing for the first time new BDA Australia research commissioned by TICT on current and future visitor trends to Tasmania.
And one of Australia's leading economic commentators, Chief Economist for the WHK Group, Darryl Gobbett, will present his perspective on the uncertain global and national economic outlook, and what this might mean for Australia and Tasmania's tourism industries.
Add a presentation from Tourism Tasmania's Director of Marketing, Kath McCann, on Tourism Tasmania's new approach to destination marketing, and update from Tourism Australia's Simon Westaway, and a regional wrap up on the newly forming Regional Tourism Organisations across Tasmania, and delegates are sure to leave the day with a very clear understanding of the current issues, opportunities and challenges facing our industry.
