Nominations are open for the 2012 Tasmanian Tourism Awards, and this year we are offering 2 new categories - Category 27: Health and Well-being Tourism and Category 28: Local Government Award for Tourism.Health and Well-being Tourism
This category is open to specialised tourism services or facilities whose primary purpose is to provide health, wellbeing and/or restorative services to enhance the visitor experience. Entry is open – but not limited to – health and day spas, resorts, retreats and well-being centres.
Local Government Award for Tourism
This category is open to all local government authorities and recognises excellence in tourism planning, the provision of tourism facilities and services, marketing, event development and management, and the overall contribution made both locally and overall to their State’s tourism industry.
These categories are being offered as part of a National pilot, and therefore the winners will not progress to the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards this year, however if there is sufficient interest they will be considered for permanent inclusion in the Awards as part of the annual review.
