2015 Tasmanian Tourism Conference

Australia’s largest annual tourism conference, and arguably its best. It’s right here in our backyard, and it’s tailored to you in the Tasmanian tourism industry.

Great industry networking opportunities, a whole lot of fun, the cutting edge, and the inspiring – whether you can fit in the full two-day event, or just one component, this is one event you can’t afford to miss!

When:Tuesday 2 June – Wednesday 3 June 2015
Where:Country Club Tasmania, Launceston

'Love Your Customer'

This year, we’re focussing on our customers, customer service and the way in which we create experiences.

After all, if there’s one industry where the customer experience should override other business considerations, it must be tourism. Without happy customers, our businesses simply won’t thrive…or even survive…

It’s time to go back to basics and get ahead of the crowd. It’s time to re-engage with who our customers are, what makes them tick, how to best look after and excite them. We know that people’s holidays are a very special part of their lives. It’s up to us to ensure that those experiences, and those memories are extremely positive.

Love your customer – and they might just love you back.

Get into the mood for this year's Conference with our (slightly cheesy) Spotify playlist of some of the best love songs!

Hot Topics and Leading Speakers

This year, we’re pleased to announce Rachel Argaman, CEO of major accommodation group TFE Hotels, will present our opening keynote address on creating customer-focussed ‘Culture by Design, not Default’, and up and coming business leader Dean Evans from Leading Minds Australia will concentrate on making that connection with your customer in ‘Customer Care: the New Rules for Delivering Exceptional Customer Service’.

In our workshops and breakouts we’ll look at a number of hot topics, and customer service fundamentals all along the customer journey, including market research, architecture and design, listings and distribution, website turn-ons and turn-offs, using the media to your advantage, interpretation and experience development, inclusive and accessible tourism, creating engaging business events.

We’ll cover the big picture – how we’re going to achieve our goals to get 1.5 million visitors to Tasmania by 2020 and maximise the Tasmanian visitor economy; but we won’t forget the nitty gritty, those little things that can make all the difference to the relationship between you and your customer.

Two Days you Can’t Afford to Miss

Once again, the Tasmanian Tourism Conference will be a packed two day affair. Whether you attend it all, or just one or two parts, be sure not to miss the 2015 Tasmanian Tourism Conference!  It’s the premier industry event of the year for professional development and networking, with an excellent line-up of leading national and local speakers coming to join us in Launceston.

Whatever industry sector you’re from, whether you’re a tour operator, run a small B&B or a large hotel; whether you’ve got a cellar door or farm gate, a restaurant or work in tourism retail; or even if you’re an industry supplier, tourism researcher or working in government – there will be something valuable for everyone to take home from this year’s conference.
